New Perspectives on a Solemn Anniversary
I missed the the 9/11 tribute lights this year. I had heard that they were planning to cancel the them due to the pandemic. I saw on the news that they actually were on, so either they changed their plans at the last-minute, or my information was wrong. Hopefully, things will be a bit more normal by next September. This was only the second time that I have missed the anniversary.
Thankfully, I was able to photograph the lights last year, when I captured some of my favorite images, including this one that I shot from one of the piers on the Hudson River.
This was one of my first attempts to adapt my Canon 24mm tilt-shift lens to a Sony mirrorless camera body. I sold most of my Canon gear years ago, but I couldn't bring myself to part with this lens, because I loved it so much.
This lens was my favorite for landscapes and architecture during my Canon years. Happily, its optical performance is outstanding, and it adapts well to sensors with resolution that I could not have imagined when I purchased it ten years ago.
When you're lucky enough to discover a classic, hold onto it.
Camera: Sony a7R III
Lens: Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L
Wishing you great light and meaningful moments!
